XXXI Doctor’s Oath Approved 5 New Doctors​​​​​​​

The inauguration and doctor’s oath of Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FK-UMS) period XXXI of 2018 was successfully held on Friday (28/12). The inauguration was held at Keraton Ballroom, Swiss Bellin Sari Petojo Surakarta. Five new doctors—4 female doctors and 1 male doctors from UMS attended the oath. 

The most interesting fact of these new doctors, one of the female doctors, dr. Septa Kristiyan Triani, successfully obtained 3.63 GPA (Grade Point Average) or cumlaude predicate. The doctor was born in Kendal and the daughter of Rubiyanto, S.Sos (father) and Ibu Krisnawati, S.Pd (mother).

“Most important, we should always beg to God, keep studying and even though we had no time to do it, we should be able to manage our time and study. It is also important to be diligent, even though you are not brilliantly intelligent,” Septa said when she was interviewed for the tips to be the student with the highest GPA. 

In addition, dr. Yayuk Wulandari was the youngest doctor, she graduated when she was 23 year, 10 month, and 18 days old. She was the daughter of Eko Purwanto (father) and Sri Sugiyati (mother).

Another interesting occurrence during this event was that there was a doctor from Pattani, Thailand. She was Miss Iman Chapakia, the daughter of Assistant Prof. Dr. Ahmad Omar Chapakia (father) and Mariae Chapakia (mother). She thought that it was an amazing experience to study at Faculty of Medicine of UMS because it had good learning model. 

Assist. Prof. Dr. Ahmad Omar Chapakia who was also from Pattani University explained that he chose UMS because UMS not only taught medicine science but also Islamic teachings that they could not found in Thailand. 

“I chose FK UMS for my child, because at UMS, she did not only study medical science, she was also taught Islamic values according to Islamic sharia, and we cannot find this in Thailand,” he explained when representing the parents to mention their appreciation.

The other two doctors are Karina Aisyah Setiawati, a Surakarta-born daughter of Dr. Mochtar Buchori and Dra. Uswatun Khasanah. The only male doctor inaugurated that day was Prima Chandra Septian, born in Purbalingga, the son of Suwanto, S.KM. and Susiati, Amd. Keb.

In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Em Sutrisna, M.Kes. as the Dean of FK UMS said that FK UMS had graduated 749 doctors, consisting of 492 female doctors and 257 male doctors. Besides that, FK UMS collaborated with nine hospitals and also established international cooperation with Chulalongkorn Public Health School (CPHS) Thailand and Faculty of Khon Kaen University Thailand.

The nine hospitals included (1) RSUD Ir. Soekarno Sukoharjo, (2) RSUD Kabupaten Karanganyar, (3) RS PKU Muhammadiyah Surakarta, (4) BBKPM Surakarta, (5) RSUD Dr. Harjono S. Ponorogo, (6) DKK Sukoharjo, (7) RS Ortopedi Prod. Dr. R. Soeharso Suarakrta, (8) RSUD Moewardi, and (9) RSJD Dr. Arif Zainuddin Surakarta.

At present, FK UMS had B accreditation based on SK Ditjen DIKTI No. 2160/D/T?2004 for profession program based on SK LAM-PTKes No. 0269/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Pro/V/2018.
