As one of the higher education institutions that are oriented towards a research-based education system, the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta always strives so that the existing education system is able to prepare its students to compete globally in all aspects, both in the fields of science, social, humanities, technology, and medicine. This requires an intensive and consistent development of a culture and intellectual atmosphere. This is fully supported by the organization and management that support each other, from the Council of Professors, the Senate, the Cabinet of the Rectorate, the Dean of the Faculty to the Administration Team.
In running its operational wheels, UMS management uses the principles of transparency and accountability. With these principles, it is hoped that UMS will be able to accelerate in the global community as a university with scientific and Islamic traditions.
UMS organizational structure has the flexibility to support work programs based on the vision, mission and goals that become UMS’s GBPP (Outline of Education Implementation). The organizational structure is also a milestone capable of ensuring the quality of policy making, modern financial management, and of course maintaining the level of achievement in global competition.
The leadership of UMS with several supporting teams is a picture of a modern educational institution where the campus must be able to accommodate all aspects and input from all its units based on the nature of democratic thinking, as well as go hand in hand with modern management in order to achieve the lofty goal of producing quality graduates. Finally, a modern, democratic atmosphere and modern management are the soul and spirit of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta in this millennium.
