Units Under the Rector
The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) directly oversees four strategic units that carry out institutional functions at the university level. These four units are:
- University Secretariat: Handles consolidative, coordinative, and consultative activities.
- Quality Assurance Board (BPM): Designs, develops, and implements the quality assurance system at UMS.
- Planning and Development Board (BPP): Assists UMS leadership, bureaus, and institutions in preparing planning and development documents in accordance with institutional needs and available resources.
- Business and Investment Development Board (BPUI): Manages, develops, and optimizes the institution's business and investment potential.
Discipline Enforcement Team
Disciplinary Enforcement Team: Supervises, enforces, and ensures compliance of all members of the academic community with the regulations and code of conduct within the institution.
- Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education: Prevents, handles, and eradicates all forms of violence within the Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta environment.
- Employee Disciplinary Enforcement Team: Enforces regulations, work discipline, and the employee code of ethics to support institutional professionalism and performance.
- Student Disciplinary Enforcement Team: Enforces student regulations and the code of ethics to create an orderly, safe, and integrity-driven academic environment.
Education, Student Affairs, and Talent–Innovation Development
The Education, Student Affairs, and Talent–Innovation Development sector focuses on delivering education, enhancing students' abilities and knowledge, and fostering student talent and innovation. This sector includes
- Directorate of Academic Affairs and Admissions: Manages academic activities and the student admission process to ensure quality and smooth delivery of educational services.
- Directorate of Student Affairs and Talent–Innovation Development: Manages student services and develops students' potential, interests, talents, and innovation capabilities.
- Directorate of Graduate Studies: Manages and develops postgraduate education programs in a quality-oriented and sustainable manner.
- Institute for Course Development and Language Services: Develops courses and provides language services to enhance the academic and professional competencies of the academic community.
- Institute for Course Development and Learning Innovation: Develops courses and promotes learning innovation to enhance the quality of the teaching and learning process.
Finance, Investment, and Assets
The Finance and University Assets sector focuses on managing financial operations, asset recording, and internal university audits. This sector consists of:
- Directorate of Assets, Facilities, and Infrastructure: Manages assets and plans, provides, and maintains facilities and infrastructure to support the smooth operation of all institutional activities.
- Directorate of Finance: Manages institutional financial planning, budgeting, implementation, and reporting in an accountable and transparent manner.
- Internal Audit Unit: Conducts internal supervision and audits to ensure compliance, effectiveness of internal controls, and good institutional governance.
Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah Cadre Development and Alumni Affairs
Development and Alumni Affairs sector focuses on the development of UMS cadre and alumni networks. This sector is managed by:
- Institute for Organization Development, Cadre Development, and Alumni Affairs (LP3A): Develops organizational guidance and cadre development, as well as manages and empowers alumni to strengthen institutional identity and networks.
- Institute for Boarding School Development, Al-Islam, and Muhammadiyah (LPPIK): Manages and develops boarding school guidance and strengthens Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah values among the academic community.
Information Systems Management, Human Resource Management, and Organization
This sector focuses on managing human resources within the campus environment, as well as managing information systems and technology to support all activities at UMS. This sector consists of:
- Directorate of Information Systems and Technology: Plans, develops, manages, and ensures the sustainability of information system services and IT infrastructure on campus to support effective, secure, and integrated institutional governance.
- Directorate of Human Resources and Organization: Manages the development and governance of human resources for lecturers and educational staff, as well as organizational structuring and work culture, to achieve professional, adaptive institutional performance aligned with the university's vision and strategy.
Research, Innovation, Reputation, Impact, Partnerships, and International Affairs
The Research, Innovation, Reputation, Impact, Partnerships, and International Affairs sector focuses on continuously improving the quality of research and innovation, expanding impact, and establishing cooperation with external parties, both domestic and international. This sector consists of:
- Directorate of Research, Community Service, Publications, and Intellectual Property Centers: Coordinates, facilitates, and develops research and community service activities, improves the quality and quantity of scientific publications, and manages intellectual property centers to encourage innovation, research commercialization, and the contribution of higher education to society and development.
- Directorate of Reputation, Partnerships, and International Affairs: Designs and manages strategies to enhance institutional reputation, develops networks and cooperation with national and international partners, and organizes internationalization programs to strengthen global competitiveness.
