Open Recruitment UMS Buddy

UMS Buddy is a program managed by the International Office of Collaboration and International Affairs (BKUI) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). Later, students who are accepted as buddies will be tasked with helping foreign students to adapt to the college environment and also the Indonesian environment, both in terms of academic and non-academic.

Orientation Week

• Campus tours
• Information sessions on academic and support services
• Welcoming gatherings and icebreaker activities

On Going Activities

• Monthly check-ins and meet-ups
• Cultural exchange events
• Study groups and academic support sessions
• Emotional and cultural supports (e.g: help with accommodation settings)

• Current student at UMS in good academic standing
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and understanding
• Commitment to helping others and fostering a welcoming environment

• Previous experience in a mentorship or leadership role
  
• Knowledge of multiple languages
• Familiarity with international student challenges and needs
