TEMANMU Duty
UMS Collaboration

In pursuit of an inclusive campus that accommodates accessibility and mobility for all academic communities without exception, UMS through the University Asset Bureau (BAU) has initiated a humanistic program called 'TEMANMU - UMS DISABILITY SERVICE.' Stemming from various foundations including the national education and religious value, TEMANMU is here to embrace our differently-abled friends at UMS. Although it is currently located in the Main Building of Siti Walidah, the goal is for TEMANMU to serve as a catalyst for integrated services catering to the differently-abled across all units at UMS.

In addition to the fundamental humanitarian mission behind the establishment of this program, TEMANMU is a disability-friendly program in the eyes of internal, national, and international assessors, which can provide added value to UMS in the context of accreditation.

TEMANMU Duty

TEMANMU, in its implementation and practice, is carried out by the UMS security personnel based on the principles of humanity and the practice of the value of cooperation in accordance with the differently-abledFiqh decision of the Muhammadiyah Council of Tarjih. The TEMANMU facility includes wheelchairs and general executive officers. Furthermore, UMS has already provided various disability facilities such as designated lanes, parking spaces, restrooms, and computers. In addition, the UMS Asset Bureau (BAU) has prepared MYMAPS, a an online-based campus mapping system designed to be accessible for differently-abled individuals. Seamlessly integrated with Google Maps, the system will serve as a guide for all academic communities and general visitors who come to the campus. With all this dedication, TEMANMU becomes a program created through a combination of technology, care, and integrity.
