Competition Concept

Musabaqah Hifdhzil Qur’an (MHQ) is a competition designed to foster students’ love and proficiency in memorizing the Qur’an and recital with tartil, mainly focusing on juz 11-20. This competition provides an exciting opportunity for participants to maintain their memorization skills and deepen their appreciation for each verse of the Holy Al-Qur’an.

Special Regulation

Assessment System
  • The assessment in MHQ is carried out using a points-based system, with the highest scorer becoming the winner.
  • MHQ includes both male and female participants, with separate competitions and winners for each category.
Guidelines
  • The competition is conducted in a single stage/round, involving all participants based on the serial number they receive through a lottery held before the competition.
  • Participant serial numbers are generated and distributed by the committee.
  • Each participant has a maximum of 30 seconds to answer each question.
  • Each participant is allotted a maximum performance time of 10 minutes.
  • When the time is up, it is indicated by the sound of a bell.
  • The determination of the Winner (best recitation) in MHQ is based on the highest score awarded by the jury.
Materials Selection

The MHQ material is Juz 11 - 20, with the following conditions:

  • The material is prepared by the jury and/or committee at the time of the competition.
  • The exam consists of packages A, B, C, D, and E, each containing 4 questions.
  • Participants select their question package through a lottery before taking the podium.
  • Once selected, the question package cannot be exchanged with other participants.
Participant Performance
  • Participants perform according to the number obtained from the committee and the arranged schedule.
  • Participants must be present 15 minutes before their scheduled performance.
  • If unable to perform, participants must notify the committee 30 minutes before the event starts.
  • Participants must wear polite and neat clothes.
  • Participants must not activate cell phones or engage in other distracting activities during their performance.
  • Participants who disrupt order may have their validity as participants reconsidered.
  • Participants who are called three times in a row and are not present will be called again at the last serial number. If they are still not present, they will be declared canceled.
Equipment and Tools
  • Microphone and Qur'an at the TQ podium and the judge's desk.
  • A set of signal lights at the TQ podium.
  • One set of bells.
  • Tables and chairs for participants and judges.
  • An alarm or sitting clock for the panel of judges.
  • One set of sound systems
Officers
  • Registration officers and those responsible for distributing participant serial numbers.
  • Participants attendants
  • Event guides.
  • Performance timers.
  • Sound system officers.
Winner
  • The winners in this competition are:
    • 1st place
    • 2nd place
    • 3rd place
    • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Honorable Winner
  • The decision of the jury is inviolable
