Competition Concept

Qira'atul Kitab Competition (MQK) tests participants' skills in reading, understanding, and expressing the content of Arabic texts, with a particular focus on the Book of Tafsir Al Maraghi. Through MQK, students are encouraged to maintain the tradition of reading books and showcase their mastery of Islamic knowledge.

Special Regulation

System
  • The assessment is the highest scorer, who becomes the winner.
  • MQK includes both male and female participants, with separate competitions and winners for each category.
Event Guidelines
  • The competition is conducted in a single stage or round and involves all MQK participants. Participants receive a serial number through a lottery held before the competition, 
  • Participant serial numbers are generated and distributed by the committee.
  • Each participant is allotted approximately 10 minutes for their performance. The first 5 minutes are dedicated to reading the material, and the remaining 5 minutes are reserved for answering questions from the judges.
  • The competition time is managed using a system of lights:
    • Yellow light: Preparation sign
    • Green light: Start reading
    • Second yellow light: Warning that reading time is ending
    • First red light: Stop reading and begin Q&A
    • Second red light: End of the Q&A session
  • The winner (best reader) is determined by the highest score awarded by the panel of judges.
Material Selection

The MQK material consists of Tafsir Al-Maraghi by Ahmad bin Musthafa Al-Maraghi, focusing on Q.S. Al-Fatihah, Al-Baqarah, and Ali Imran. The contestants will read this material, which is organized as follows:

  • The material is prepared by the board of judges and/or the committee at the time of the competition.
  • Participants select their material through a lottery before taking the pulpit for the competition.
  • Once selected, the material cannot be exchanged with other participants.
Participant Performance
  • Participants must adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Replacement confirmation must be confirmed no later than two days before the event.
  • Participants must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled performance.
  • Participants unable to perform must notify the committee 30 minutes before the event begins.
  • Participants must wear polite and neat clothes.
  • Participants are not allowed to activate cell phones, smoke, or engage in other distracting activities.
  • Participants who disturb the order of the event may have their participation reconsidered.
  • Participants who called three times in a row without a response will be moved to the last serial number. If they still do not come, they will be eliminated.
Equipments and Tools
  • Microphone and Tafsir Al-Maraghi at the MQK podium and at the judge's table
  • A set of cue lights at the MQK pulpit
  • One set of bell
  • Tables and chairs for participants and judges
  • An alarm or sitting clock for the panel of judges
  • One set of sound system
Officers

The officers required in the MQK competition are:

  • Registration officers and those responsible for distributing participant serial numbers.
  • Participants attendants
  • Event guides.
  • Performance timers.
  • Sound system officers
Winner
  • The winners in this competition are:
    • 1st place
    • 2nd place
    • 3rd place
    • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Honorable Winner
  • The decision of the jury is inviolable.
