Competition Concept

The short film competition invites participants to create and submit a 15-minute film (including credits) on the theme of “Character Education.” Judging criteria include theme adherence, story quality and screenwriting, cinematography techniques, creativity and originality, and the conveyance of moral and educational messages.

Special Regulation

Participant
  • Participants from the same university must be in one group.
  • Participants must register using the online form provided by the committee.
  • Each university can only submit one short film.
  • Only short films that pass the first stage of selection by the jury will be presented during PORSENI VI.
  • Two representatives from each team will present the selected short films.
Theme
  • The main theme is "Character Education."
  • Participants are free to explore sub-themes relevant to the central theme.
  • Video content must not offend or discredit SARA (ethnic, religious, racial, and inter-group issues).
Film DurationMaximum length of 15 minutes (credits included)
Scoring Criteria
  • Appropriateness to the theme
  • Quality of story and screenwriting
  • Cinematography technique
  • Creativity and originality
  • Moral and educational messages
Movie Format
  • Movies can be made in any format (drama, documentary, animation, etc.)
  • Video quality must be at least HD (720p)
  • File format: MP4 or MOV
  • Movies are uploaded on YouTube and open access to the public
Submission
  • YouTube video link must be entered here 
  • Deadline for submission: August 25, 2024 at 23:59 WIB
  • Each work must be equipped with a PORSENI logo intro which can be downloaded here
  • Every movie uploaded on YouTube must include a description (synopsis of the movie) as a tool for the jury to make an assessment.
Copyright
  • The copyright of the work remains with the participant
  • The committee has the right to use the submitted works for promotion and publication purposes
Judge
  • The jury will consist of film, education, and character experts.
  • The jury's decision is absolute and inviolable.

Winner

  • The winners in this competition are:
    • 1st place
    • 2nd place
    • 3rd place
    • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Honorable Winner
  • The decision of the jury is inviolable

Phase II judgingSeptember 2 - 3, 2024 (each group will be interviewed by the jury). The committee determines the venue for phase II judging.
