Hi there, International Students! We are beyond excited to welcome you to our beloved campus! Before your arrival, there are several documents you need to prepare in purpose of completing Indonesian immigration regulation.
The documents will further be used by our staff to manage your study permit, VISA and Limited stay permit in the immigration office. Therefore, please kindly follow all the requirements and submit all the documents properly and carefully.
- Passport biometric page (at least 18 months of validity)
- Latest medical report (2 months of validity)
- Health insurance/Travel insurance (if you don’t have health insurance from your country, you can fill the letter of statement with template provided) (download template)
- Financial guarantee in the form of a scanned account book with the minimum of 2000 USD (for non-scholarship prospective students)
- Latest academic transcript
- Latest graduate certificate
- Passport cover
- COVID-19 vaccinated certificate/card full dose
- Photo with blue background

- Statement letter of willingness to comply with health protocols in Indonesia (download template)

Weather
Can't wait to see you here! Anyway, our excitement remains nothing if we let you arrive here unprepared. We, therefore, need to inform you about our weather. Please kindly read this information in order to help you all prepared for living here. It also helps you to decide which clothes you need to pack.
Get to know the weather in Indonesia before you go especially in Central Java, the province which UMS is located. If this is your first time visiting Indonesia, weather does really matter. The Indonesian weather is generally hot during dry season and humid during rainy season.
The dry season starts from April to October, while the rainy season lasts from October to April. Temperatures in Java tend to be stable throughout the year. The average maximum temperatures range between 32°C and 34°C, while the average minimum temperatures mostly down to 23°C and 25°C. In conclusion, you do not have to pack cold-weather clothing. Either way, you still need a few sweaters and some socks.
Arrival
Due to limited international flights to Surakarta, you need to get a domestic connecting flight.
Your Country to Indonesia (Soekarno Hatta International Airport)
Soekarno Hatta is the most common International Airport to get a landing in Indonesia. It's located in our capital city, Jakarta which is 532 KM away from UMS. Then, you have to travel to Surakarta (Solo) to get to UMS.

Hello! We are waiting for you in Solo! We provide the pick up point options once you have landed in Indonesia. These are the options:

Please kindly inform us before you arrive at the pick up points, so that we can pick you up on time. Subsequently, we will lead you to your temporary accommodation.
IMEI Registration
Due to Indonesian government regulation, International visitors need to register their IMEI to access Indonesian SIM card numbers. For your information, IMEI stands for "International Mobile Equipment Identity". This is a unique number to identify your device on the cellular network and any smartphone entering Indonesia must be registered with Indonesian IMEI. Otherwise, you will not be able to access any Indonesian SIM card.
These following are the IMEI registration flows. Note that IMEI registration can be done within 60 days starting from the date stated on the student's boarding pass.

- Once you have registered, you will obtain a QR code that you must save until your arrival in the airport.
- Upon your arrival, please come to Bea Cukai (Customs Officer) in the airport and give the QR code to activate your IMEI.
- Pay as much as 41% of your phone’s price to complete the registration.
Temporary Accommodation
No need to worry about the accommodation when you just arrived in UMS. We provide free accommodation for a month! Later, we will give you options for living your new home here.
