The Intensive Listening course is given in the first semester and is a prerequisite course for taking Extensive Listening courses in the second semester. These courses are included in a separate type of curriculum, namely the scope of the material is only about oral texts and exercises for understanding oral texts, but these oral texts are short texts in any forms, such as conversation, storytelling, etc. that are commonly used for practice to speak. The short oral text is the text with the lowest difficulty level, namely: it contains simple sentences (consisting of only 1 main clause) and easy vocabulary (often used). The text is an authentic type of text, which can be taken from various sources and the understanding exercise must be made by the lecturer himself if it does not exist or if it already exists, but is not in accordance with the learning objectives. Several short oral texts that have never been discussed are used to make an assessment tool for understanding the oral text, which is in the form of questions or incomplete sentences.
