
Deskripsi
This course deals with the principles that underlie the teaching of English as a foreign language and its relation to classroom action research. The main content of this introductory course includes an understanding of: (a) Learning theories, (b) Principles of underlying foreign language teaching (c) Second language acquisition theories, and (d) analytical tools for Second language acquisition and educational research. This course will form a solid foundation in understanding foreign language teaching methods, second language teaching and acquisition research, and further studies
Capaian Pembelajaran
- Students are able to analyze the learning theories of behaviorism, cognitivism, humanism, constructivism and their application in learning English as a foreign language (EFL).
- Students are able to analyze the theory of second or foreign language acquisition (SLA) and its application in learning English as a foreign language (EFL).
- Able to analyze language theory (Communicative competence, Text & Genre) and its application in contemporary English language learning (EFL).
- Students are able to analyze the language of English language learners (EFL learners) by applying analytical tools (Error analysis, transfer analysis, interlanguage analysis) as a development of English language learning.
- Students are able to analyze the phenomenon of English language use (EFL) by applying discourse analysis tools as a development of English language learning.
