The Alumni Association (IKA) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the self-development of the younger generation. This support was embodied in Ultimate Talk 6 titled “Graduate With Direction: Unlocking Your Career Path With Purpose by Aligning Passion and Skills”, held on Saturday (13/12/2025) at the Mohammad Djazman Auditorium, UMS.

The Chairman of IKA UMS, Dr. M. Aditya Warman, S.Psi., MBA., reaffirmed the importance of the younger generation being well prepared to face the increasingly competitive job market. According to him, UMS students and graduates must possess strong capabilities, relevant skill sets, a resilient mindset, as well as high levels of passion and perseverance.

He also urged the younger generation to maintain continuous learning awareness and enthusiasm. “Do not just be a follower, be a leader, at least for yourself,” he emphasized.

Ultimate Talk 6 featured Chaerul Saleh, Director of Labor Productivity at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, as the main speaker.

In his presentation, Chaerul highlighted a number of strategic aspects that need to be followed up to realize Indonesia’s vision and mission of becoming a developed country with high per capita income.

The next session was delivered by Dr. Tutut Handayani, M.Psi., who motivated the younger generation not to be afraid of trying new things. She emphasized that university graduates should not only be oriented toward seeking jobs, but also be capable of creating employment opportunities. “A lack of self-confidence is a form of not trusting in God,” Tutut stated.

As a form of appreciation for the achievements of the academic community, IKA UMS also presented awards. In this session, lecturers and recipients of the IKA UMS Outstanding Talent Scholarship Batch VII who achieved accomplishments throughout 2025 were presented with certificates of appreciation from IKA UMS.

Through this activity, it is hoped that UMS students and graduates will have clear career direction, alignment between passion and competence, and be ready to make tangible contributions to the nation’s progress.
