The Thematic Student Community Service (KKN Tematik) Group 45 students from the Faculty of Health Sciences (FIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) organized an educational program titled "Jogo Awak" at TPA Al-Hikmah Kauman, Kauman Hamlet, Wonorejo Village, Polokarto District, Sukoharjo Regency.

The Leader of KKN Tematik FIK UMS Group 45, Muhammad Imam Baihaqi, explained that this program was motivated by the importance of self-protection education from an early age. According to him, there are still many children who do not understand body boundaries and how to protect themselves from inappropriate behavior and sexual violence.

"Through Jogo Awak, we want to provide an understanding to children that their bodies are valuable and must be protected. Children also need to know that they have the right to say no to touches that make them uncomfortable and to be brave enough to ask for help from trusted adults," Baihaqi explained when met on Monday (June 22, 2026).

The program is a form of community service by FIK UMS students in providing self-protection education to children from an early age. Through this activity, children are invited to understand the importance of protecting themselves, recognizing private areas of the body, and respecting their own body boundaries as well as those of others.

The Jogo Awak activity was carried out by Muhammad Imam Baihaqi, Miftahul Arifin, Adinda Rosvita Nazarina, Kayla Tsania Almaida, Wafiq Dwi Annirroh, Nury Widiana Putri, Meila Putri Azkania, Amanda Ryan Septy Nandita, Nikita Sheva Putri Ardianti, and Yayang Rasyidah Thosa as part of the KKN Tematik FIK UMS program in Kauman Hamlet.

In its implementation, the students used a play-based learning concept. This concept was chosen so that the material regarding children's private areas could be delivered in a fun, easy-to-understand manner that fits the participants' age.

Through the medium of interactive dolls, children were introduced to body parts that are private. The students also explained that every child has a right over their own body and has the right to refuse touches that make them feel uncomfortable.

In addition to using educational dolls, the students also presented a traffic light game. In this game, various forms of interaction were categorized into green and red colors, with green indicating safe and permitted behavior, while red depicted actions that violate privacy and must be rejected.

The activity took place with great enthusiasm. The children appeared active in answering questions, participating in the games, and discussing various situations they might encounter in daily life.

In addition to increasing knowledge about private body areas, this program also instills Islamic-based body autonomy values. Children were given the understanding that taking care of the body is part of the effort to maintain the trust given by Allah SWT, as well as a form of respect for oneself and others.

A member of KKN Tematik FIK UMS Group 45, Miftahul Arifin, hopes that the Jogo Awak program can increase the awareness of children, parents, and the community regarding the importance of self-protection education from an early age.

"We hope that children not only understand the body parts that must be protected, but also have the courage to speak up, refuse treatment that makes them uncomfortable, and immediately report it to their parents or trusted adults," Arif said.
