To strengthen collaborative synergy between campuses, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) visited Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) for a faculty comparative study.

This comparative study was aimed at preparing the opening of a new study program, the Family Medicine Primary Care Specialist Program (Sp.KKLP), as well as building partnerships between the two institutions.

The establishment of the Sp.KKLP Specialist Program is one of the key projects initiated by FK UMS. The Sp.KKLP FK UMS is currently in the submission process and has now reached the review stage. While waiting for this process to move forward, FK UMS is building relations and communication to ensure more effective and optimal preparation.

In preparing to open the specialist program, FK UMSU was chosen as the initial institution for establishing relations. FK UMSU had opened its Sp.KKLP program earlier, and therefore is expected to provide FK UMS with insights for its own preparation.

“We chose FK UMSU as the first destination for the comparative study to build relations in preparation for opening the Sp.KKLP program at FK UMS,” said Dr. Adam Fauzi Akbar, M.Biomed., Public Relations of FK UMS, Tuesday (25/11/2025).

During the visit, FK UMS also established a partnership to strengthen collaborative synergy with FK UMSU. The partnership was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between FK UMS and FK UMSU.

“Our visit on 18 November 2025 was also to establish a partnership with FK UMSU as an effort to enhance collaborative synergy among PTMA campuses,” he explained.

Siti Malina Siregar, Sp.THT-L, Subs.Rino(K)., as the Dean of FK UMSU, and witnessed by Dr. dr. Isti Ilmiati Fujiati, M.Sc. CM-FM., M.Pd.Ked, FISPH, FISCM, Sp.KKLP, Subsp.COMC., serving as Expert Staff to the Rector and Chair of the Indonesian Association of Family Medicine and Primary Care Specialists (PDSKKI).

In this context, the PKS serves as the legal foundation for implementing various forms of collaboration, not only limited to the development of the Sp.KKLP program but also encompassing the Three Pillars of Higher Education education, research, and community service.
