A hybrid meeting was conducted via Zoom between the Kedaireka team from the Pharmacy Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) and representatives from BPOM, with apt. Zakky Cholisoh, Ph.D., leading the Kedaireka team. The team comprises apt. Arini Fadhilah, M.Si., apt. Ahmad Fauzi, M.Farm., and 20 undergraduate students from the Pharmacy Program. The meeting took place at Multazam Syariah Hotel on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, and involved the entire Kedaireka team alongside representatives from PT Aksioma Langgeng Sentosa (ALS) and PT Jaya Natural.
Kedaireka is a program that facilitates seamless collaboration between higher education institutions and commercial partners, driving progress for Indonesia. This program aligns perfectly with the Merdeka Campus vision backed by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Kedaireka stands for “Business World Cooperation and Design Creation,” aiming to serve as a bridge connecting designers from Higher Education Institutions (Insan Dikti) with the dynamic world of Business and Industry (DUDI).
The Kedaireka FF UMS team, led by apt. Zakky Cholisoh, Ph.D., initiated the event with opening remarks. He emphasized the program's goal of partnering with DUDI (Business World - Industrial World) to elevate Biotein® herbal medicine to the status of Standardized Herbal Medicine (OHT). Imron Rosyadi, the formulator of the amino acids that make up Biotein® herbal medicine, followed with a speech highlighting the product's growth since its inception in 2013. He acknowledged the challenge of providing scientific evidence for the product's efficacy and expressed hope that the Kedaireka FF UMS team could assist in establishing this scientific foundation.
Mrs. Ideasanti, Coordinator of the Preclinical/Clinical Test Assessment Substance Group for Traditional Medicines, Quasi Medicines, Health Supplements, Cosmetics, and Assessment of Cosmetic Product Information Documents at BPOM, delivered a presentation and evaluation. She was accompanied by the Director of Traditional Medicine Registration, Health Supplements and Cosmetics, and six sub-coordinators from the Kedaireka team.
Based on the proposed testing plan presented by the Kedaireka team, BPOM provided valuable guidance on conducting product effectiveness and safety testing, as well as a roadmap for product registration as a standardized herbal medicine.
