Improving the Village Tourism Sector

The Student Club Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) of the Student Representative Council (DPM) of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) successfully launched its “Samiran Village Development Based on the Four Pillars of Tourism Development through Digitalization of Tourism Service Systems” program on Tuesday, September 9th, at Samiran Village Hall in Boyolali. The team developed a comprehensive website and SIPADU system (Sistem Informasi Pariwisata Dan Usaha) to enhance Samiran Village's tourism industry. The SIPADU system specifically caters to the needs of local tourism stakeholders, including the Samiran Village Youth Organization, Bagmawa UMS, Samiran Village Government, Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group), MSMEs, and PT SIM.

Website Content and Feature

One of the team members, Nisa, explained the contents of the website and SIPADU system that the DPM FKIP UMS PPK Ormawa Team had launched.

“This website showcases the diverse range of MSME products and tourism spots available in Samiran Village. Additionally, it provides comprehensive information about the village’s profile, offers virtual tours of various attractions, and highlights homestay options. These features aim to enhance the overall experience for tourists visiting or planning to visit Samiran Village,” Nisa elaborated.

Improving the Village Tourism Sector

Herman, the Head of Samiran Village, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the PPK Ormawa DPM FKIP UMS Team for contributing a lot, especially regarding village development.

“Empowered with a robust website and SIPADU system, we are eager to take care of its management, supported by our dedicated digital creative team. We recognize the value of this program for Samiran Village and pledge to maintain the website with utmost care and commitment,” remarked the village head.

Furthermore, he also hopes that this website can improve the tourism sector of Samiran Village so that it is better known and easily accessible to the public without being constrained by time and location.
