Best PTS in Indonesia

Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) 2026 officially released its list of the world’s top universities, featuring 35 Indonesian institutions, comprising both public (PTN) and private (PTS) universities.

The THE World University Rankings employs a rigorous methodology in assessing university performance. This year’s evaluation focuses on the following key aspects:

  • Teaching (29.5%)
  • Research Environment (29%)
  • Research Quality (30%)
  • Industry (4%)
  • International Outlook (7.5%)

At the global level, the University of Oxford retained its position as the world’s best university, achieving an overall score of 98.2 based on these indicators.

Meanwhile, the following are the top 10 Indonesian universities according to the THE World University Rankings 2026:

In the 2026 rankings, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) earned the top spot among private universities in Indonesia, sharing the same position as Binus University. This achievement further strengthens UMSreputation as a university with global competitiveness.
