Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) Delegates successfully claimed their triumph in Thailand Inventor's Day 2023 as they accomplished a silver medal and two bronze medals.
The international competition was held on 2-6 February 2023 in Bangkok Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand.
Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition (IPITEx) itself is well-known as one of the largest invention exhibitions in Thailand.
Pre-competition Preparation and The Developed Innovation
One of the winners, who is also a student of Informatics Engineering Education (PTI), Hawangga Dhiyaul Fadly said that it took three months to prepare for the competition.
“Prior to the competition, I managed to develop the concept or the pattern of batik within various kinds of foods. I further think of any idea which eventually leads me to develop a batik-themed virtual reality,” said the student.
His innovation which entitled “VR Batik Museum: Discover Indonesian Culture Through Immersive Virtual Reality” was meant to accommodate and introduce Indonesia’s culture; Batik.
“Alhamdulillah, our team succeeded to bring a silver medal in a competition which invited 24 nations consisting of 500 teams,” he added.
The Boards in Study Program, Faculty, and University were Really Encouraging
According to Hawangga Dhiyaul, all of the boards were truly helpful from the beginning of their preparation until their triumph in Thailand.
Achievement Details
Head of Reasoning, Creativity, and Soft Skill of Student Affairs, Ir. Muhammad Alfatih, S.T., M.T. claimed that these international triumphs represent UMS tagline: Mencerahkan, Unggul, Mendunia.
“This achievement becomes exciting news in the beginning of the year. I hope that all faculties are keen to produce both national and international achievements,” said Ir. Muhammad Alfatih, S.T., M.T.
The details of achievements accomplished by the UMS delegates are: silver medal by Hawangga, Aray, Esa students of Informatics Engineering Education (PTIK). Bronze medal by two teams coming from Faculty of Pharmacy on behalf of Ahmad, Nuri, Zakiyatul bringing an invention entitled "Foot Spray Combination of Citrus Hystrix Leaves and Zingiber Officinale Extract for Bromodosis" and the second team on behalf of Firda, Nalil, Ahmad entitled "STECAV: The Alternative of Food Supplement with SCP Production to Prevent Protein Deficiency."
