One of the winners, who is also a student of Informatics Engineering Education (PTI), Hawangga Dhiyaul Fadly said that it took three months to prepare for the competition.

“Prior to the competition, I managed to develop the concept or the pattern of batik within various kinds of foods. I further think of any idea which eventually leads me to develop a batik-themed virtual reality,” said the student.

His innovation which entitled “VR Batik Museum: Discover Indonesian Culture Through Immersive Virtual Reality” was meant to accommodate and introduce Indonesia’s culture; Batik.

Alhamdulillah, our team succeeded to bring a silver medal in a competition which invited 24 nations consisting of 500 teams,” he added.

The Boards in Study Program, Faculty, and University were Really Encouraging

According to Hawangga Dhiyaul, all of the boards were truly helpful from the beginning of their preparation until their triumph in Thailand.

He wished that all students in Faculty of Teacher Training and Education and UMS could follow his footsteps and be motivated to achieve more.

Dias Aziz Pramudita S.Pd., M.Cs., the superviso, said that the team had already figured out the topic, and started to prepare all selection documents including portfolio, video and proposal since the registration of the competition was open.

“Eventually, three teams of UMS qualified to present their work in Bangkok, Thailand,” he added.

During the assessment, three judges would have a visit and look over each student’s work and deliver a face-to-face question and answer session immediately.

“I wish that we could continually send and prepare our next delegates for this annual event,” stated the supervisor.
