Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) marked an important milestone in the digitalization of Muhammadiyah higher education with the launch of the electronic Muhammadiyah Membership Card (e-KTAM), Saturday (13/12/2025). This digital-based system was inaugurated simultaneously with the opening of the Ahmad Syafi’i Ma’arif Building of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UMS.

e-KTAM is the official digital identity of Muhammadiyah members. It is designed to make it easier for members to access proof of membership quickly, securely, and in an integrated manner within the Muhammadiyah organizational system.

In addition, through e-KTAM, members of the organization will gain faster access to administrative services, activities, and exclusive member programs. Each e-KTAM accelerates Muhammadiyah’s digital transformation toward becoming more professional and relevant.

The Rector of UMS, Prof. Dr. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum., explained that the launch of e-KTAM integrated with the academic system is a strategic step to improve access and efficiency for the public to become part of the Muhammadiyah organization. “At its launch, as many as 14 students, including international students, became the initial participants of this system. This demonstrates UMS’s commitment to supporting ease of access and the development of the organization,” Harun stated.

The Chairman of the Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. K.H. Haedar Nashir, M.Si., emphasized that the launch of e-KTAM at UMS is part of Muhammadiyah’s broader efforts to manage membership administration in a more orderly, modern, and accountable manner. He encouraged all Muhammadiyah members who already hold a Muhammadiyah Membership Card (KTA) but have not yet fulfilled their membership dues to immediately make payments in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Haedar also invited Muhammadiyah members who do not yet have a KTA to promptly process their membership through the digital system, which is now increasingly easy to access. “Now, processing a KTA is much simpler, just through an application without having to come to the Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah. This is part of the convenience we have prepared,” he said.

The launch of e-KTAM at UMS has become a pioneering initiative for other Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) to integrate academic systems for the digital registration of Muhammadiyah members. It is hoped that this system can become a national standard in the management of Muhammadiyah higher education in Indonesia.
