Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) once again achieved a proud accomplishment at the national level. At the Anugerah Pendidikan 2025 hosted by Jawa Pos Radar Solo on Tuesday (28/10) at The Sunan Hotel Surakarta, UMS, through the Directorate of Student Affairs and Innovation Talent Development, received the award for Top University Driving National Student Achievement.

UMS Vice Rector I, Prof. Ihwan Susila, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., expressed his gratitude and pride for this achievement, which coincided with the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day 2025.

“Alhamdulillah, today on 28 October 2025, on Youth Pledge Day, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta received the award as a university driving national student achievements. This is truly a pride we share together,” said Ihwan.

He added that this award serves as a motivation for UMS to continue facilitating and empowering the nation’s best talents.

“In the future, we hope more UMS students will achieve outstanding accomplishments at both national and international levels. We aim to develop them into excellent, innovative students who can enlighten the nation,” he emphasized.

This award, he continued, is solid proof of UMS’ commitment to nurturing and developing students’ potential so they can continue to excel in various fields, both academic and non-academic.

Director of the Directorate of Student Affairs and Innovation Talent Development (DKPTI) UMS, Ir. Ahmad Kholid Alghofari, S.T., M.T., expressed his gratitude to all university leaders, faculties, and study programs for their full support in student development efforts.

“Alhamdulillahi rabbil ‘alamin, we are grateful to Allah SWT for this award. Thank you to UMS leadership, deans, heads of study programs, and all supervising lecturers who continuously encourage students to excel,” he stated.

Through this award, UMS further reinforces its role as a university that not only excels in academics but also actively encourages students to become agents of change who uphold integrity, achieve excellence, and embody an enlightening spirit.

“May UMS students continue to be a generation that is Islamic in character, excellent, globally competitive, and sustainable, always bringing pride to UMS and Indonesia,” he added.

Meanwhile, Director of Radar Solo, Resita Rika Ariyani, explained that the 2025 Education Award is a form of appreciation for educational figures who have made real contributions to advancing education in the Solo Raya region.

“This event is not merely a ceremony, but a space to honor the warriors of education, those who light candles of hope every day in classrooms, on campus, and within communities,” she stated.

She emphasized that this award is born from a spirit of collaboration and dedication.

“We evaluate based on what is real, not just beautifully written reports on paper. Education is a collective struggle between the government, universities, schools, media, and society,” she added.

On the same occasion, Director of Jawa Pos Media, Marsudi Nur Wahid, also expressed his appreciation for Radar Solo, which consistently provides a platform to recognize achievements in the education sector.

“The world of education is becoming more challenging, but collaborations like this between media, the government, and universities are an important step to continuously encourage innovation and the spirit of learning,” he concluded.
