Efforts to improve staff well-being continue to be pursued by the Directorate of Human Resources and Organization (DSDMO) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). This step comes through the introduction of 5 new programs announced at the DSDMO Menyapa event, held on Monday (3/8/2026) at the Seminar Room of the Faculty of Economics and Business UMS.
The five programs include UMS Day Care, 360 Degrees Assessment and Talent Mapping, an employee coaching mechanism, digitalization of UMS HR data, and competency development for education support staff. The Director of UMS DSDMO, Ir. Tri Widayatno, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., is committed to providing the best possible support for all UMS staff.
"From the start, we were tasked with delivering the best possible journey for all UMS staff, from recruitment and HR management to staff well-being," he said when met on the sidelines of the event.

Of the five programs, UMS Day Care and Talent Mapping are currently in the stage of developing their operational frameworks. Meanwhile, the employee coaching program, HR data digitalization, and competency development for education support staff are already ready to be implemented.
UMS Day Care is planned to provide childcare services for lecturers and education support staff (tendik). The service aims to allow parents to oversee their children's development without having to sacrifice their work productivity. Tri explained that his team has formed a task force to develop the concept, master plan, HR requirements, operational guidelines, and funding.
Meanwhile, the 360 Degrees Assessment and Talent Mapping is a performance evaluation mechanism that gathers input from supervisors, colleagues, subordinates, and self-assessment. Both programs, Tri said, are targeted to launch starting next year. "God willing, they'll roll out next year," he added.
Tri hopes DSDMO can maintain good HR management practices at UMS while also providing the best possible support for staff well-being, not only in financial terms but also covering mental, psychological, health, and other aspects of well-being.
"We also hope the system we're developing will support the career development and advancement of lecturers and education support staff. Those are the three things we hope for, God willing," he said with confident optimism.
