The UMS Architecture study program hosted a Final Project Exhibition from September 16-17, 2023. The Final Project serves as the culminating requirement for graduation in the UMS Architecture program.

“This event was attended by 139 students. We hope that this work will inspire younger siblings and the community,” said Head of UMS Architecture Department, Dr. Nur Rahmawati Syamsiyah, ST, MT, Sunday (17/9).

Nur Rahmawati elaborated that the Final Project is traditionally showcased at a formal exhibition, and this September's exhibition was held at the Djazman Auditorium Hall in UMS Campus 1. This event serves as a tribute to the students’ dedication, as they present their Final Project creations from periods III and IV. “These works are presented as designs incorporated into posters and mockups by each student,” Nur Rahmawati explained.

“The Final Project designs tackled a range of real-world challenges and concerns. This is reflected in the theme of this final project exhibition: ‘The World Without Us.’ The exhibition explores how architecture can serve as a solution to the various issues raised,”

According to the Final Project Exhibition Coordinator, Vatta, these final project works are designed on the scale of areas and buildings. Each work is a reflection of the students’ thoughts.

“The architectural designs showcased in this final project exhibition demonstrate the students’ ability to identify and critically analyze problems, ultimately devising design solutions,” he explained.

The 139 final projects demonstrate the evolving landscape of architecture through the innovative ideas and creativity of the students. (Yusuf/Humas).
