Dispute Resolution in the Development of Islamic Economics and Finance in Indonesia
The progress of Islamic economic and financial development in Indonesia has led to a noticeable increase in the number of Islamic economic disputes. This underscores the importance of effective and efficient dispute resolution mechanisms in facilitating the growth of Islamic economics and finance in Indonesia.
In addition to the religious courts, the presence of Basyarnas (National Sharia Arbitration Board) is also crucial and requires greater awareness among the public, particularly within the Islamic economic industry and among all customers who have obtained Islamic financing in Indonesia. Therefore, it is essential to conduct an in-depth evaluation and study by engaging academics, legal practitioners, law enforcement officials, and stakeholders involved in Islamic economics and finance through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD).

In his remarks, Sutan Emir Hidayat emphasized the significance of the halal business chain to bolster the advancement of the Islamic economy. He highlighted the necessity of strengthening the legal ecosystem to ensure that all legal aspects pertaining to Islamic economics are addressed appropriately and professionally.
In the event, Sutan Emir Hidayat shared that he had served as treasurer on the Malaysian PCIM board while studying at IIUM, alongside Indonesian colleagues in PCIM Malaysia such as Ustadz Sonny Zulhuda, Ph.D.
