After attending a class on digital-era entrepreneurship, the group of students from Uzbekistan visited the Accounthic Fest 2025 entrepreneurship exhibition held at the Faculty of Psychology field at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) on Wednesday (7/5/2025).

Accounthic Fest is an annual entrepreneurship exhibition organized by the Accounting Department at UMS. During the event, Accounting students showcased a variety of products developed through their Entrepreneurship course, ranging from culinary items to fashion goods.

Despite the heat, the Uzbekistan delegation remained enthusiastic and attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. One of the students, Pravina, was seen visiting each booth with great interest.

Among the many booths offering local delicacies, the green-veiled student decided to spend her money on a strawberry sagoo drink. “I’ve tried it, and it tastes really good,” she said.

She was impressed by the lively atmosphere of the expo, filled with students offering an array of local food. “The atmosphere here is amazing. I get to try so many Indonesian snacks and drinks,” she added.

Meanwhile, other students from Uzbekistan were seen enjoying their time at the dining area provided by the committee. They blended in with local UMS students, engaging in conversations about food and cultural differences.

The event’s committee chairperson and UMS Accounting lecturer, Nur Prasetyo Aji, S.Ak., M.Ak., admitted he felt a bit nervous when the international students arrived at the expo. However, he remained optimistic, believing that their presence would be a valuable learning experience for UMS Accounting students.

He emphasized that interacting with foreign students was a golden opportunity for expo participants to practice persuasive communication skills. The goal, he explained, was to attract international students to buy their products, while upholding Indonesian norms and ethics.

“This is a meaningful experience for our UMS students, giving them the chance to introduce Indonesian cuisine to international peers,” said Nur Prasetyo during an interview at the event.
