The achievement of the Klanceng Edufarm Team from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) at the 2026 Studentpreneur Bootcamp organized by the Muhammadiyah Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubator (MCEBI) has become a new stepping stone for expanding their business. Not stopping at their first-place win in the business category and second place in the proposal category for the cultivation division, the Klanceng Team is now aiming to boost production capacity and break into the international market.

Klanceng Edufarm is an agribusiness startup founded by students of the Sharia Economic Law (HES) Program at the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FAI) of UMS. The team consists of Hibatulloh Al-Mubarok, Oyan Sugiyanto, Wildan Iskandar, Riski Aldiansyah, and Athifah Fabanyo, who are developing stingless bee cultivation with an emphasis on education and environmental conservation.

Hibatulloh Al-Mubarok said Klanceng Edufarm was born from concern over Indonesia's stingless bee potential, which has yet to be fully utilized. According to him, stingless bees carry high economic value while also playing an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance through pollination.

"We wanted to build a business that doesn't just sell honey, but also delivers educational value and empowerment to the community. That's why, from the very beginning, we built Klanceng Edufarm as a business that provides economic benefits while also protecting the environment," he said when met on Friday (24/7/2026).

That concept sets Klanceng Edufarm apart from typical honey businesses. Beyond producing premium honey, the team has also developed the Dual Chamber Trigona Hive System (DCTHS) to increase cultivation effectiveness. The stingless bees, which have no stingers, are also used as an educational medium for children, students, and the general public.

Klanceng Edufarm's business journey has shown significant growth. To date, the venture has more than 200 bee colonies, serves over 600 customers across various regions of Indonesia, has built up 9 resellers, works with 4 partners, and has recorded cumulative revenue of around Rp140 million.

Hibatulloh explained that the team's participation in the MCEBI Studentpreneur Bootcamp, held on 17 to 18 July 2026 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, was not merely about chasing a championship title. They used the program as a space for learning: to gain business model validation, expand networks, and receive input from mentors, practitioners, and academics.

Input from the mentors further reinforced the direction of Klanceng Edufarm's development. The team was encouraged to strengthen product downstreaming, increase added value through innovation, and build a business ecosystem that connects farmers, consumers, the education sector, and environmental conservation.

Armed with this achievement, Klanceng Edufarm is now preparing several strategic steps. The team plans to increase the number of cultivation colonies, expand its network of resellers and partners across various regions, build a stingless bee cultivation education center, and open branches in a number of strategic locations as part of its preparation for entering the export market.

The success of these UMS students has also received full support from Vice Rector III of UMS, Dr. Mutohharun Jinan, M.Ag., who throughout the mentoring process has continually encouraged students to build businesses that are not only profit-oriented but also deliver social and environmental impact. According to him, a business will have strong competitiveness if it can meet the needs of society while also creating sustained benefits.

Hibatulloh hopes that UMS will continue to strengthen its commitment to building an entrepreneurship ecosystem that produces innovative and competitive students. According to him, through the UMS Directorate of Student Affairs and Talent-Innovation Development (DKPTI), students are given space to develop their competencies through various mentoring programs, competitions, coaching, and startup development.

"I believe DKPTI's support has built confidence, expanded networks, and enriched the team's experience in developing Klanceng Edufarm," he said.

He hopes UMS DKPTI will continue to expand its business incubation programs, sustained mentoring, access to investors and industry, and collaboration with the government and private sector, so that more student startups can grow into independent, sustained ventures that deliver real impact to society.
