The Community Service Program for Persyarikatan/AUM/Partner Villages (P2AD) team from the Master of Hospital Administration (MARS) Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), organized a managerial and leadership capacity-building program at PKU Muhammadiyah Karanganyar Hospital. The program carried the theme “Strengthening Managerial and Leadership Competence of Hospital Unit Heads: Multidisciplinary Synergy for Excellent Performance.”
The activity was attended by the hospital’s managerial team, division heads, department heads, and IT staff, focusing on two main areas: managerial leadership in the digital era and the improvement of hospital management information system (SIMRS) governance.
The Head of the P2AD Community Service Team of MARS UMS, Dr. Nida Faradisa Fauziyah, MMR., stated that the program aims to strengthen unit heads’ competencies in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating hospital services.
“In addition to ensuring that management functions run effectively and efficiently, this program also encourages all managerial levels to develop adaptive leadership and the ability to manage digitalization challenges optimally,” she explained, Monday (1/12/2025).

The community service program was conducted in two separate sessions. The first session took place offline at PKU Muhammadiyah Karanganyar Hospital, raising the topic of Strengthening Leadership and Managerial Challenges in the Digital Era. The material was delivered by Dr. Nida Faradisa Fauziyah, MMR., and Dr. Asri Alfajri, MARS.
“It is expected that the outcomes of this program will be integrated into field practices, enabling PKU Muhammadiyah Karanganyar Hospital to achieve superior and sustainable performance,” Nida added.
The second session was held online on 28 November 2025, focusing on Enhancing Governance and Strategic Communication in SIMRS Development. Participants gained insights into communication strategies and system integration to support excellent healthcare services.

The Director of PKU Muhammadiyah Karanganyar Hospital, Dr. Aswin Wikantama, Sp.An., MARS, FISQua., welcomed this collaborative initiative. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for the community service efforts conducted by the MARS UMS Program.
“This activity is a community service initiative by the MARS Program of the Faculty of Medicine UMS. Hopefully it brings benefits to all parties, especially the hospital, and becomes part of the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine UMS to provide meaningful contributions to society,” he said.
As a follow-up, P2AD MARS UMS will hold a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and mentoring session on 12 December 2025. This agenda aims to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) related to leadership and supporting SOPs for service digitalization, including the preparation of modules that can be implemented in hospital management.
Through this activity held on Friday (14/11/2025), UMS continues to strengthen its contribution to improving the quality of Muhammadiyah’s charitable enterprises, particularly in the health sector.
