The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), Prof. Dr. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum., officially inaugurated five new vice rectors for the 2025–2029 term. Together, the rector and the five vice rectors will work on UMS mission to become a World Class University Leader.

The newly appointed vice rectors are:

Vice Rector I: Prof. Ihwan Susila, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., overseeing Education, Student Affairs, and Talent-Innovation Development, Vice Rector II: Prof. Dr. apt. Muhammad Da’i, S.Si., M.Si., responsible for Finance, Investment, and Assets, Vice Rector III: Dr. Mutohharun Jinan, M.Ag., in charge of Islamic and Muhammadiyah Affairs, Cadre Development, and Alumni, Vice Rector IV: Prof. Dr. dr. EM Sutrisna, M.Kes., overseeing Information Systems Management, HR Management, and Organizational Affairs and Vice Rector V: Prof. Ir. Supriyono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., responsible for Research, Innovation, Reputation, Impact, Partnerships, and International Affairs.

In his speech during the Vice Rector Inauguration Ceremony, Harun Joko Prayitno stated that from past leadership periods until now, and Insya Allah, in the future, UMS has always been and will continue to be managed by its best leaders using the best approaches.

He expressed confidence in continuing the important foundations laid by UMS founding leaders, from the university’s earliest leadership to its future administrations.

“We want to build together; we want to position UMS as a World Class University Leader,” he emphasized on Wednesday (4/6/2025) at the Mohammad Djazman Auditorium.

The Rector of UMS introduced 8 priorities that will be carried out by UMS to place its position as a WCU-Leader. These 8 priorities are Input Leader for Students, Input Leader for Human Resources, Input Leader for Revenue.

Meanwhile, in the process category: Process Leader for System and Infrastructure Modernization, and Process Leader for Vertical-Horizontal. Then Excellent Output, Outcome University by making UMS Impactful. Until finally reaching Beyond University or WCU-Leader Market.

Not only that, he also introduced the tagline #1 or One.

#1-AUM, #1-Research, #1-Community Service (PkM), #1-Scopus, #1-Driver of Asta Cita, #-1 Inbound-Outbound, #-1 International Conference Presenter. This tagline encourages lecturers, academic staff, and professors to be impactful, both through research and real action through community service, especially to the grassroots level of Muhammadiyah.

“Alhamdulillah, UMS is currently taking on the role of khutwah pelopor (A Pioneer’s Step) as an impactful university, empowering border and underdeveloped (3T) communities in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, Agriculture, Forestry, and LPDP,” said Harun.
