The 2026 Coordination Meeting of the Communication Forum of Leaders of Organizing Bodies and Higher Education Institutions of Central Java reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating the transformation of higher education in Central Java. Strengthening collective commitment is crucial to respond to rapidly evolving challenges.

Carrying the theme "Accelerating the Transformation of Higher Education in Central Java: Adaptive, Innovative, Impactful, and Sustainable," the event was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business Building, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS), on Wednesday (11/2/2026).

The Head of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region VI Central Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. Aisyah Endah Palupi, M.Pd., stated that the event served as a consolidation forum between LLDIKTI VI, leaders of private universities (PTS), and organizing bodies to strengthen the direction of higher education transformation in Central Java.

"The transformation of higher education is no longer an option, but a necessity for universities to remain relevant, high-quality, and competitive," she emphasized.

She explained that universities must be able to adapt to changes in the global environment, technological advancements, and the evolving needs of the workforce and society.

At the regional level, the transformation of higher education in Central Java is directed toward strengthening academic quality and enhancing universities' capacity to deliver tangible impact on regional development. The local potential of Central Java must serve as both a source of inspiration and a solution to real societal challenges.

Aisyah also emphasized the importance of strong synergy between university leaders and organizing bodies. The presence of foundation chairpersons accompanying private university leaders at the forum was a positive signal of a shared commitment to building sound governance and regulatory compliance.

"A culture of quality is the main foundation for the sustainability of private universities. Aligning programs with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is not merely an administrative requirement, but must be understood as a substantive effort to improve institutional performance and quality," she said.

She expressed hope that the forum would produce concrete steps and strategic agreements that could be implemented at each respective university. LLDIKTI Region VI, she continued, is committed to continuously assisting and facilitating private universities so they can grow into institutions that are adaptive, innovative, impactful, and sustainable.
