“We want to learn about public relations as well as university rankings. We see that UMS has already performed well in rankings, so we hope to follow suit through this comparative study,” he said.

During the visit, UMS presented several strategic areas managed by its public relations division, including news coverage, new student recruitment strategies, social media, and efforts in university rankings.

UMS Coordinator for Global Reputation, Ayu Khoirotul Umaroh, S.KM., M.K.M., explained that there are various strategies universities can adopt to participate in ranking systems, including the importance of Scopus-based data management.

“As much as possible, participate in rankings that are within reach, especially if the required submission aligns with roles already established within the university,” Ayu said.

She also emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration within the university as one of the keys to success in achieving high rankings, an approach that has already been implemented at UMS.
