Universitas Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM) is collaborating with Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) to develop an integrated IT infrastructure system. This partnership was formalized in a meeting at UMS Office Research and Innovation on Monday (7/10/2024).
Vice Chancellor of UMAM, Prof. Ir. Dr. Waluyo Adi Siswanto, alongside Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ir. Dr. Shahnor Basri, explained that the collaboration aims to enhance UMAM's IT systems, which are currently lacking.
“UMAM currently operates without any IT system, and Prof. Shanor has been working hard to establish the necessary frameworks without an IT system,” Waluyo remarked.

This partnership builds on previous collaborations, including earlier work by Ir. Bana Handaga, M.T., Ph.D., from UMS Office of Information Technology, who has served as an IT consultant for UMAM. The latest agreement is expected to aid in the integration of IT systems at UMAM.
Additionally, the collaboration plans to foster joint research between UMAM and UMS, opening opportunities for international research partnerships. UMAM has allocated specific funds for research and is looking forward to contributions from UMS. “It will benefit UMAM and UMS. It's a win-win solution,” stated Waluyo.
UMS will also assist in the development of UMAM's IT infrastructure, including student admission systems, study plan card systems, grading and transcript systems, web portals, and document automation for memorandums of understanding. UMS will further support the maintenance of the IT systems established through the collaboration.
