Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Policy

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion through its Rector Regulation on the Prevention and Handling of Violence (2025), which ensures a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment for all members of the university community. The policy addresses various forms of violence, including physical, psychological, sexual, bullying, discrimination, and intolerance, and is guided by principles of non-discrimination, gender equality, accessibility for persons with disabilities, accountability, and fairness. It applies to students, staff, leadership, and partners, and is supported by institutional mechanisms such as a dedicated task force, reporting channels, and victim protection and recovery services to ensure effective prevention, response, and continuous improvement.
